Insane?

Did I mention I totally lost my mind?

Yes, I went insane.                                             
Ordered Insanity even though I wasn't sure that I would be able to do it.  Patrick said that there was no way that I could do it.  He said his weightlifting class guys were dying doing the plyometrics and the pure cardio. I didn't tell anybody that I was ordering it and when it came in guess who met the mailman?  Patrick.  Of course it didn't come in a plain brown box, NO!!!!  Insanity written all over the outside.  So my secret was out.  I just thought I would sneak around while nobody was looking and try it and then if it didn't work out, I would send it back.  Now, I gotta do it.  He said I couldn't.  OH NO!!! It is onnnnn, buddy!  I started it last monday, the 16th.  It is everything that it claims to be.  Insane!  I am on  the second week and I really do feel stronger.  I was rather disappointed in the scales yesterday, but thanks to a great support system in Team Excel's fun and Fitness group, I feel much better.  I AM going to go the full 60 days and I am going to earn the Insanity t-shirt!  Insanity makes the pilates videos I was doing on netflix seem like kindergarten level stuff!  I walked this afternoon for 40 minutes after doing pure cardio this morning.  I made it!  I have been eating by the Insanity food guide and drinking lots of water as well.  I know eventually the scales will be kinder.  Even Sid has started exercising with me.  He has gone a whole week and seems to look forward to our workouts together.  I am so proud of him!

Did not get to do a video today, but I did walk for about an hour and 15 minutes this afternoon in the freezing arctic wind!! Good thing I had a friend walking with me to keep my mind off the pain.  Looking forward to spa day tomorrow.  Never had a facial nor a mani/pedi, so this will be interesting.  Love a massage, though.  Can't wait.  Feel like a kid on Christmas eve!

ok, did another pilates video and I am so sore! I am adding running a half marathon to my bucket list. I don't want any smart tails out there making fun of me because you know if you say that I can't do it, I'll do it for spite! can't believe I used to do aerobics 5 days a week along with weight training. I am so weak.

OK, I've started! I found a Pilates video on Netflix and did that today. It's amazing that the moves that look so easy are really not. I feel a little like jello. On the plus side, I did 9 REAL push-ups today. You know, the kind with your legs straight! I'm pretty excited about that. I guess I'll try the next one tomorrow and see how that goes! (that is if I can move tomorrow!) I plan to go see my friend Liz tomorrow. I haven't been to her house since before Christmas. She is making sure that I am catching up on my scrap-booking! I sure hope I can keep this up. I really want to. I'm tired of being all jiggly!

New Beginnings.

January, a time for new beginnings, so by golly, I'm going to do just that. I have worked so hard in the past 2.5 years trying to shed these pounds and for the most part I have succeeded, but I have decided that now is the time to get into shape. Yes, getting into shape is different from getting smaller. I have gone from a size 20 to a 10, but it's flabby and untoned. I walk, but not regularly, so I plan to do better. I know that I will backslide, but I will NOT be the size I was ever again. I think it would be fun to be able to run, something that I have never been able to do. I know it will be very hard, but I hope to succeed this time. I'm thinking 50 isn't too old to get into shape!
